Some time ago, we purchased a Night Owl Coverless Duvet to use in the caravan. There were a few reasons.
- It comes in a bag
- It doesn’t need a cover
- It’s lightweight
- It’s easy to wash
Four absolute winner reasons when it comes to having anything in the caravan. Everything should be light, come in a bag be easy to clean and doesn’t need anything else, in this case a cover.
A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by The Fine Bedding Company, asking if we would review their Night Owl Coverless Duvet on our website. Of course we would, we already loved it!
Traditional Duvet – Caravan Issues
Everyone that owns a caravan knows, everything has to be worth packing, everything has to earn the right to travel with you. Every single item adds to your payload and let’s face it, most of the time it’s limited. Not only is it limited, but you don’t always really know how much weight you’re carrying. So every kg of weight counts.
What I would call a “traditional duvet” is one where you have the duvet itself AND a separate cover. They are reasonably heavy, bulky things that we normally stuff into the under seat storage area. We’d sometimes keep it in a black bin liner.
Alternative Solution – Night Owl Coverless Duvet
We’d always been frustrated with where to best keep the duvet when not using the caravan, you can’t just leave it on the bed, unless you’re using it in the next week or so. We’d looked about, wouldn’t it be great if we didn’t need a cover. In some way though, a duvet with a cover is great you can just wash the cover and change it when you need to.
Well, during our search we came across Night Owl Coverless Duvet, everyone was raving about it on Facebook groups. It seemed perfect for use in the caravan. We looked around and found it at a high street chain and bought one. Actually we bought two!

Conclusions
The Night Owl Coverless Duvet is perfect for use in the caravan. As soon as we get our new caravan it will be one of the first things that goes in. As it comes with it’s own bag it can be stored much like a sleeping bag. That in itself makes it worth getting. It’s lightweight, so won’t eat into your payload and it means when you use it it’s very light to sleep under. We use it throughout the year, all seasons, it’s warm enough.
Just a reminder of the main benefits it offers us caravanners and indeed motorhomers:
- It comes in a bag
- It doesn’t need a cover
- It’s lightweight
- It’s easy to wash
A quick thank you to The Fine Bedding Company for supplying us with the duvet to review here. We highly recommend it for caravan and home use, we do use it at home as well. It really is the best duvet for your caravan or Motorhome.
Although The Fine Bedding Company sent us a King size duvet, we do own 2 double size duvets that we purchased ourselves and do use one in the caravan.
The duvet has also featured in one of our “must have caravan accessories” vlogs that we did last year
